The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) has issued a six-month extension for businesses impacted by hurricanes Helene, Beryl, Debby, Francine, and Milton. Those affected are granted extra time to file or update their Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) reports. This extension applies to companies with deadlines from one day before each hurricane’s onset through 90 days afterward. To qualify, entities must be located in FEMA-designated disaster areas eligible for individual or public assistance and recognized by the IRS for tax relief. Each linked FinCEN Notice below specifies the applicable dates for each hurricane. FinCEN also noted that companies reliant on records located within these disaster zones would be accommodated, even if their primary business location lies outside the affected area.
